Appeal for information following aggravated burglary in Lyme Regis

Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary in Lyme Regis are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Shortly after 9pm on Saturday 3 January 2026 an unknown man gained access to an address in Poole’s Court and assaulted the occupant.

The offender then left the premises. It is not believed anything was stolen from the property.

Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment. It was subsequently reported that he had sustained a number of facial fractures.

Detective Constable Mia Bowditch, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are conducting a full and thorough investigation to this incident and are exploring a number of lines of enquiry to identify the man involved.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Poole’s Court on the evening of Saturday 3 January 2026, or who has any further information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.”
