Update in relation to series of reported arson incidents in Poole
A man arrested in connection with a series of reported arson incidents in Poole will face no further police action in relation to the matter.
A local man aged in his 40s was previously arrested in connection with a series of at least 14 reports of suspected arsons in Princess Road between Friday 8 December 2023 and Sunday 24 November 2024.
He was released on police bail as further enquiries were carried out.
Officers have conducted a full and detailed investigation into these incidents, with support from local residents who have provided CCTV and other information.
However, following a thorough review of all the available evidence, the arrested man has now been released without charge.
Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team will continue to work with partners such as the local authority as well as the local community to provide crime prevention advice, offer reassurance and help prevent further reports of crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.
