Update – man charged in connection with reported robbery in Wimborne
A man has been charged and is due to appear in court in connection with an alleged knifepoint robbery at a store in Wimborne.
It was reported that at around 9pm on Monday 24 April 2023 a man entered the Spar in Gordon Road and pulled out a Stanley knife before demanding money from a member of staff at the till.
He allegedly grabbed the victim by their clothing and took cash from the till.
A 34-year-old man from the Dorchester area was arrested in connection with the incident. Following further enquiries by detectives from Dorset County CID, he has now been charged with robbery and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday 18 August 2023.
