Witness and dashcam appeal following serious injury collision in Bournemouth
Officers are investigating a serious injury road traffic collision in Bournemouth and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.05am on Wednesday 1 May 2024 of a collision in Ashley Road in Boscombe, near to the junction with Windham Road, involving a grey Vauxhall Mokka and a pedestrian.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian – a local man aged in his 70s – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. His family has been informed.
A woman aged in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for an examination of the collision scene to be carried out.
Police Constable Mark Burton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this collision and I am appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“I would also urge any motorists who were driving in the area to please review any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance.
“Finally, I want to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures. These are absolutely necessary to allow emergency services to respond and for a thorough examination of the scene to be conducted.”
