Appeal for witnesses following collision in East Dorset

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch following a collision in East Dorset.

At around 5.30pm on Thursday 1 May 2025, a collision occurred on the eastbound carriageway of the A31 between St Leonards roundabout and Ashley Heath roundabout involving a red Sunbeam Alpine and a silver Peugeot 107.

The drivers of both vehicles were treated by the ambulance service to injuries that are not described as life-threatening or life-changing.

Police Constable Rhianna Sly, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw the collision, or captured any relevant dashcam footage, to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to speak to anyone who saw the manner of driving of either vehicle in the moments leading up to the collision.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience while the road closures were in place as this enabled emergency services to safely treat the injured people and examine the scene.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email at scit@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250061564. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
