Two charged following investigation into reported aggravated burglary in West Dorset

A man and a woman have been charged following an investigation by detectives into a reported aggravated burglary in West Dorset.

It is reported that at 4.12am on Saturday 27 April 2024 a man and a woman forced their way into the Spar convenience store on Orchard Way in Mosterton while in possession of a hammer and stole multiple items.

The victims – a man and a woman – both sustained injuries during the incident that are not believed to be serious.

A full investigation into the incident was carried out by detectives from Dorset County CID and a cordon was put in place as enquiries were carried out.

Following enquiries, a 34-year-old man from Poole was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit non-dwelling burglary, actual bodily harm and driving not in accordance with a licence. A 46-year-old woman from Bridgwater was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit non-dwelling burglary and allowing her vehicle to be driven without insurance. 

Both are due to appear at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on Monday 29 April 2024.
