Witness and dashcam appeal following reported theft of moped in Poole

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following the reported theft of a moped and a subsequent alleged driving offences in Poole.

It was reported that a black Lexmoto moped was stolen from outside the Junction Sports and Leisure Centre in Broadstone between 6pm and 8.30pm on Friday 29 May 2026.

It was further reported that the vehicle was see driving dangerously in the area of the Stinsford Road Roundabout and Derbys Corner Roundabout before the rider was detained by an off-duty officer with assistance from a member of the public in Lower Blandford Road at around 9pm.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and driving offences and was subsequently released on bail.

Police Constable Harrison Downer, of Poole police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would urge any witnesses or anyone who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage to please make contact with us.”
