Seven arrests made following proactive operation to tackle suspected drug dealing in Bournemouth

Officers have made seven arrests as part of proactive disruption activity to tackle suspected drug dealing in Bournemouth.

On Wednesday 23 August 2023, a series of arrests were made and two warrants were executed in the West Howe area.

During the warrants, officers located a quantity of suspected class A and class B drugs.

A 14-year-old boy from Poole and a 15-year-old boy from Bournemouth, as well as four Bournemouth men – aged 18, 20, 41 and 42 – were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug. The 42-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class B drug.

The two boys and two of the men, aged 18 and 20, have been released on police bail and the two men aged in their 40s have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A 25-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A and class B. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Amy Wilson, of Dorset Police, said: “Following intelligence that was gathered, we were able to take positive action to demonstrate that we are absolutely committed to disrupting the activity of those who are suspected of dealing drugs in our communities.

“We want to send a clear message that any reported drug-related activity is not acceptable and we will do all we can to prevent it. We will also continue our efforts to safeguard vulnerable people who may be exploited by suspected drug dealers.
