Witness appeal following reported assault in Bournemouth

Officers investigating a reported assault in Bournemouth town centre are appealing for information and urging two potential witnesses to the incident to come forward.

It was reported that between 9pm and 10pm on Friday 1 August 2025 a woman aged in her 20s was assaulted by a man who was known to her in Exeter Road, near to the Hilton Hotel and the BH2 complex.

The victim did not sustain any serious injuries.

Following enquiries, a 21-year-old man from Oxfordshire was arrested on suspicion of assault and he was subsequently released on bail.

Investigations Officer Katy Miles, of the Bournemouth Volume Crime Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and I would urge witnesses or anyone with information to please contact us.

“I am particularly keen to speak to two potential female witnesses who approached the victim after the incident to ask if she was all right. They may have information that could assist our enquiries.”
