Witness appeal following reported affray in Weymouth

Officers investigating a reported affray in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident occurred at around 10.25pm on Monday 8 December 2025 in St Thomas Street involving a group of men.

A man aged in his 40s was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not described as serious.

Officers attended and a 22-year-old man from Weymouth and a 32-year-old man from Reigate in Surrey were arrested on suspicion of assault and affray. They have been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Harry Chaplin, of Dorset Police, said: “I am appealing to any witnesses who were in the area and saw what happened to please come forward.

“I would also ask that local businesses check their CCTV footage for anything of relevance that may assist our enquiries.”
