Information appeal following assault in Bournemouth
Detectives are continuing to investigate an assault in Bournemouth and are appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
At 1.44am on Friday 19 June 2026, Dorset Police received a report of the incident involving a suspected machete outside G&T’s in Wimborne Road in the Winton area of the town.
The victim – a man aged in his 40s from Bournemouth – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
The five suspects are described as male, white and with balaclavas. Two of them were wearing all-dark clothing and the other three wore dark jumpers and lighter coloured trousers. They were riding on four bikes.
Detective Constable Hannah Duell, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We have been progressing our investigation and are now in a position to issue two CCTV images.
“I am aware that the quality of these images is not good. However, I am hoping that they jog somebody’s memory and therefore, enable further witnesses or anyone with additional information to come forward.
“In particularly, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a group of five people on four e-bikes or pit bikes in the Winton area between 12am and 2am on Friday 19 June 2026.
“Equally, I would urge those who may have captured any relevant mobile phone, dashcam, doorbell camera or CCTV footage to please get in touch.
“We recognised that the incident may have caused concern for the community and officers can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.
“We would ask members of the public not to speculate and urge anyone with information to contact police. We are determined to progress with our investigation to enable us to hold those responsible to account. The public can help by providing intelligence and reporting concerns.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260090821. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
