Update in relation to serious injury collision in Bournemouth
A man who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Bournemouth has very sadly died.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.05am on Wednesday 1 May 2024 of a collision in Ashley Road in Boscombe, near to the junction with Windham Road, involving a grey Vauxhall Mokka and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian – a local man aged in his 70s – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Very sadly, he died in hospital on the afternoon of Thursday 2 May 2024. His family has been informed.
A woman aged in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and she has been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.
Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died following this collision.
“We owe it to them to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who has not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.”
