Witness and dashcam appeal following serious collision in Dorchester

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious collision in Dorchester.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.47am on Friday 27 October 2023 of a collision on the A354 Monkton Hill involving a blue Citroen C1 and a DAF Trucks flatbed lorry.

Officers attended with the ambulance service and the driver of the Citroen – a woman aged in her 70s from the Dorchester area – was taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is described as life-threatening and her family has been informed.

The lorry driver was uninjured.

Police Constable Calum Maton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into the collision and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I know the road closure had a significant impact on motorists travelling in the area and I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we safely dealt with the incident.”
