Assault in Wimborne – witness and information appeal

Detectives investigating an assault in Wimborne are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

The incident is believed to have occurred some time between 10pm on Sunday 2 March and 12am on Monday 3 March 2025 in Leigh Road.

The victim – a man aged in his 50s – sustained serious facial injuries and attended hospital for treatment.

The male suspect is described as six feet three inches tall and was wearing blue jeans, a black jumper, white trainers and a black snood.

Detective Constable Matt Barrett, of Dorset County CID, said: “We have been continuing to investigate this incident and carried out extensive enquiries so far, including CCTV checks and house-to-house visits.

“After further liaison with the victim, I am now appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and seen what happened to please come forward.

“Similarly, if you have captured anything of relevance on CCTV or dashcam footage, please get in touch.”
