Update – reported theft of minibus in Weymouth

A second arrest has been made following an image appeal after a minibus was reportedly stolen in Weymouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.15am on Sunday 22 September 2024 that a man and woman stole a minibus from an address in the Melcombe Regis area.

Officers attended and searched for the vehicle, which came to a stop in Bradpole near Bridport at around 12pm.

It is reported that the man made off from the scene.

Following an image appeal, a 44-year-old man from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and driving offences. He has been released on police bail as the investigation continues.

A 33-year-old woman from Weymouth who was previously arrested on suspicion of theft, burglary and driving offences remains on police bail.
