Appeal for witnesses following alleged assault in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following an alleged assault in Bournemouth – with one man arrested.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.21pm on Sunday 24 December 2023 of a fight involving a group of people in St Michael’s Lane.

Officers attended the scene and the victim – a man aged in his 30s from Bournemouth – was taken to hospital by the ambulance service for treatment to head injuries.

A 21-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Detective Constable Rhiannon House, of BCP CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and has information about what happened to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant footage of the incident, either on home CCTV, dashcam or a mobile phone.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries at the scene and can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”
