Appeal for information following commercial burglary at Gillingham supermarket

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a burglary at a supermarket in Gillingham.

At around 11.30pm on Thursday 25 December 2025 three people forced entry to the foyer area of the Asda store in Station Road and attempted to steal money from a cash machine. They were unable to gain access to the ATM and made off from the scene.

Police Constable Emily Harfield, of North Dorset police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this break-in and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, including unusual vehicle movements, to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the vicinity around the relevant time and may have dashcam footage to assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250188972. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
