Witness and dashcam appeal following fatal collision near Bridport

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision near Bridport.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.46am on Sunday 27 July 2025 of a collision involving a grey Audi A7, a blue Ford Mondeo and a Kawasaki motorbike on the B3157 Coast Road near to Swyre.

The rider of the motorbike – a man aged in his 50s from the Purbeck area – very sadly died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

The drivers of the other vehicles were not injured.

Police Sergeant Mark Burton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who very sadly died in this collision.

“We are investigating the circumstances of what happened and would like to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“Road closures remain in place while an examination of the scene is carried out and I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
