Appeal for information following sexual assault in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Bournemouth.

It was reported that at around 8.20pm on Monday 29 September 2025 a 17-year-old girl was at the Fisherman’s Walk bus stop in Southbourne Grove when a man approached her and attempted to engage her in conversation.

The man then reportedly grabbed the girl’s arm and attempted to touch her inappropriately over her clothing.

The girl told him to leave her alone and got onto a bus a short time later, leaving the man at the bus stop.

The man is described as white, aged in his 30s, around five feet six inches tall and of slim build with short white hair and two grey hoop piercings in his right ear. He was wearing a read hooded top, dark blue top and dark blue jeans.

Police Constable Lucy Hobbs, of Bournemouth police, said: “This must have been a very distressing incident for the girl involved and we are carrying out a full investigation into this matter.

“I would urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to please make contact with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250144836. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
