Update to Poole murder investigation

Detectives have made further arrests following the death of a young man in Poole.

Dorset Police received a report at 2.13am on Friday 19 June 2026 that a man had been located with injuries in Longfleet Road.

The victim – an 18-year-old Poole man – was taken into hospital for treatment to a suspected stab wound where he was very sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

It is believed that the victim sustained injuries during an incident in Dale Close and was taken to Longfleet Road in a car.

A 20-year-old man from Blandford who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody.

A 19-year-old man from Poole has come forward overnight and has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 22-year-old man from London and a 22-year-old man of Bletchley in Buckinghamshire who were initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have since been further arrested on suspicion of murder.

The four men remain in custody at this time.

Two men – a 36-year-old and 38-year-old from Bournemouth who were arrested on suspicion of murder have been released and will face no further police action.

Detective Superintendent Neil Third, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing our investigation into this incident and are keeping the victim’s family updated on our progress. Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.

“Officers have concluded searches in the Dale Close area and continue to carry out searches at an address in Castleman Smith Close in Blandford in connection to the incident.

“We do not underestimate the concern and upset that an incident of this nature will have in the community.

“We still need help from the public and would reiterate our appeal for anyone with information – or relevant home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage – from Dale Close or Longfleet Road around the relevant time to please contact us.”
