Update following reported racially aggravated assault in Bournemouth

Three people have come forward following an image appeal in relation to a reported racially aggravated assault in Bournemouth.

At around 10.40pm on Friday 2 October 2026 officers were on patrol when a member of the public alerted them to a man unconscious in Westover Road.

It was reported that the man had previously been subjected to racial abuse and was assaulted by a group of people.

The victim – aged in his 30s – sustained a black eye and injuries to his face and neck.

Following an image appeal, three people have come forward and are assisting officers with their enquiries.
