Update – CCTV appeal following alleged attempted robbery in Bournemouth

A man has been arrested and charged following a report of an attempted robbery in Bournemouth.

At around 2.10pm on Saturday 20 April 2024 a man reportedly entered the Esso garage in Kinson Road and argued with a member of the shop staff before he hit them over the head with a glass bottle. It is alleged that the man then demanded money from the till and threw a second glass bottle in the victim’s direction before leaving the premises.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury.

Following enquiries and a CCTV appeal, a 26-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted robbery and assault. He was due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24 May 2024.
