Witness appeal following reported robbery on Portland
Officers continuing to investigate a reported robbery on Portland are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Dorset Police received a report at around 7.30pm on Saturday 12 September 2026 that a man aged in his 40s was at the cash machine at the Osprey Quay Service Station on Mereside when he was attacked from behind and had his bike keys and phone stolen.
The victim sustained bruising as a result of the reported assault but did not require immediate medical treatment.
Following enquiries, a 37-year-old man from Poole and a 19-year-old woman from Dorchester were arrested on suspicion of robbery. The male suspect has been released on police bail and the female suspect has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
Police Constable Anya Parvin, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries into this matter and from our investigation we believe there may be members of the public who witnessed this incident.
“I would urge any witnesses who have not spoken to police, or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries, to please get in touch.”
