Update – arrest in connection with reported serious assault in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating an alleged serious assault in Bournemouth have made an arrest.

It was reported that shortly before 7pm on Friday 10 February 2023 a man aged in his 20s and a friend were involved in a verbal altercation with a group of three other males outside the Columbia Convenience Store in Columbia Road.

They were reportedly then chased into Slades Farm Road, where the victim fell to the ground before he was allegedly assaulted. He sustained two suspected stab wounds to his leg and was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not life-threatening.

Following enquiries by detectives from Bournemouth CID, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Detectives are continuing to urge anyone with information about the incident to contact police.
