Officers are issuing an image of a man they would like to identify following a theft and racially aggravated assault in Poole.

At around 10.20pm on Sunday 29 March 2026 a man stole a bottle of wine from Tesco Express in Bournemouth Road.

He was challenged by staff and then proceeded to racially abuse them, before spitting at them and leaving the shop.

Police Community Support Investigator Adam Cleaver, of Poole police, said: “It is unacceptable for someone to be racially abused and spat at just while doing their job.

“I am issuing an image of a man I would like to identify and would ask anyone who recognises him to please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55260051951. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online using its website or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.
