Update – arrests in connection with reported serious assault in Bournemouth
Two people have been arrested as detectives continue to investigate a report of a serious assault in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police received a report at 12.30am on Monday 29 April 2024 that a woman had sustained stab wounds following an assault outside an address in Rochester Road.
Officers attended the scene, along with the ambulance service, and the woman was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment to injuries that are not life-threatening.
Following detailed enquiries, led by detectives from BCP CID, a 37-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man – both from Bournemouth – have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Bell, of BCP CID, said: “This has been a fast-moving investigation and we continue to carry out enquiries into this incident. I would like to repeat my appeal for anyone with information that might assist us to please come forward.
“There will continue to be an increased policing presence in the vicinity and members of the public can approach officers if they have any information or concerns.”
