Appeal for witnesses following report of fail-to-stop collision in Bournemouth
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a reported fail-to-stop collision in Bournemouth.
At around 12.40pm on Friday 6 December 2024 a collision occurred on Christchurch Road near to the junction with Parkwood Road in Pokesdown involving a silver Jaguar X-Type and a pedestrian.
It is reported that the Jaguar failed to stop at the scene.
The pedestrian – a local man aged in his 50s – sustained serious injuries to his leg.
Following enquiries, a 48-year-old man from East Dorset was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Police Constable David Carmichael, of Bournemouth police, said: “I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time who would have seen what happened and I am appealing to them to please get in touch.
“Also, I am keen to speak to anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
