Witness appeal after collision in Christchurch

Officers are investigating a road traffic collision in Christchurch and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact police.

Dorset Police received a report of the incident in Stour Road, which involved a white VW Beetle and a pedestrian, at 9.08am on Tuesday 23 June 2026.

Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and a road closure was put in place to enable emergency services to attend the scene.

The pedestrian, a local man aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police Constable Jack Honnywill, of BCP police, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision who have not spoken to officers yet to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
