Appeal following fatal collision in Holton Heath

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam or doorbell CCTV footage to come forward following a fatal road traffic collision in Holton Heath.

Dorset Police received a report at 5.35am on Sunday 1 June 2025 from the ambulance service of a collision on Wareham Road, between the Bakers Arms Roundabout and the entrance to the Romany Business Park, involving a silver Ford Fiesta Flight.

Emergency services attended and, very sadly, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for a detailed examination of the collision scene to be carried out and are likely to remain for the next few hours.

Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of the man who very sadly died in this collision.

“We are continuing to carry out a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage or doorbell CCTV in the local area, to please make contact with us.

“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email at scit@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250078003.
