Appeal for witnesses following alleged affray in Weymouth

Officers investigating an alleged affray in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received reports at around 8.45am on Friday 16 June 2023 that a man was in possession of a large metal pole on the Rodwell Trail.

Officers attended and a 46-year-old man from Weymouth was arrested on suspicion of affray. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Charlie Frost, of Weymouth Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “It was reported that the man made threats toward a person in a small black car at the junction with Old Castle Road.

“We have not identified the driver of the vehicle and I would ask them to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from anyone with information or relevant footage to assist my enquiries.”
