Update in relation to fire at Bournemouth hotel

Detectives investigating a fire at a hotel in Bournemouth have made an arrest.

At around 6.15am on Sunday 4 February 2024 Dorset Police received a report of a fire at the Grove Hotel in Grove Road.

Officers attended to assist with road closures and the evacuation of the occupants of the building.

A man aged in his 40s was treated by the ambulance service and taken to hospital for treatment. He has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and bailed while enquiries continue.

The investigation into the incident, led by detectives from BCP CID, remains ongoing and witnesses or anyone with information who have not already spoken to police are being urged to come forward.
