Witness appeal following fail-to-stop collision in Poole

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward following a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Poole.

Dorset Police received a report at 3.38pm on Thursday 17 October 2024 of a collision in Western Road.

It was reported that a woman aged in her 40s had parked her vehicle, a silver Mercedes Benz C200, and was assisting her child out of the backseat when another vehicle collided with the open car door.

The door struck the woman, causing her to fall to the ground. It was reported that the other vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that included a laceration to her neck, but were not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Police Constable Erin Andrews, of Poole police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge anyone with dashcam who was driving in the vicinity on the afternoon of Thursday 17 October 2024, as well as any local residents with home CCTV systems or doorbell cameras, to please check any footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to appeal directly to the motorist involved in this collision to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
