Witness and dashcam appeal following collision in Bournemouth

Officers investigating a serious injury collision in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 7.44am on Thursday 12 January 2023 of a collision involving a blue Vauxhall Astra and a pedestrian in Florence Road, at the junction with Grantley Road.

The pedestrian – a local man aged in his 60s – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. 

The driver of the Vauxhall was uninjured.

Police Constable Gavin Newbury, of the traffic unit, said: “Enquiries are underway to establish exactly what happened and I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision.

“I am also particularly keen to hear from any motorists who were travelling in the vicinity and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience while emergency services dealt with the incident. The road closure enabled emergency services to safely treat the injured person.”
