Update following alleged assault in Bournemouth
Detectives continuing to investigate an alleged assault in Bournemouth have made two arrests.
At 6.20pm on Monday 26 August 2024, Dorset Police received a report from the ambulance service that a man had been stabbed in the Lower Gardens near Bournemouth Pier.
Officers and the ambulance service attended and the victim, a local man in his twenties, was taken to hospital with an injury that is not life-threatening.
Following further enquiries, a 17-year-old boy from East Dorset was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and released under investigation.
A 16-year-old boy from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Chris Bradford, of BCP CID, said: “We have been continuing to carry out a detailed investigation and have now made two arrests.
“I would like to ask anyone with information in relation to this incident that has not already spoken to officers to please contact Dorset Police.”
