Witness and dashcam appeal following serious injury collision in Weymouth

Officers investigating a serious injury road traffic collision in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

At around 11.30pm on Tuesday 7 April 2026 a collision occurred involving a black Ford Fiesta and a red Volkswagen Polo in Preston Road.

Officers attended alongside the ambulance service and a road closure was put in place.

Two occupants of the Ford Fiesta - an 18-year-old woman from Weymouth and an 18-year-old man from Dorchester, were taken to hospital with injuries believed to be serious but not life threatening or life changing and were subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

The driver of the Polo, an 18-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. 

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.

“I would also ask that any motorists with dashcam who were travelling in the vicinity around the time of the collision please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
