Update in relation to fail-to-stop collision in Dorchester
A man has come forward following an appeal in relation to a fail-to-stop collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Dorchester.
At around 6pm on Monday 11 November 2024 a collision occurred on Bridport Road near to the junction with Williams Avenue involving a car - described as possibly a dark blue hatchback - and a pedestrian.
The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and made off in the direction of Poundbury.
The pedestrian – a woman aged in her 80s – was taken to hospital for treatment. She has sustained serious injuries that are not described as life-threatening.
Following an appeal by officers, a man has come forward and is assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
