Witness appeal following report of rape in Bournemouth
Detectives investigating a report of rape in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Dorset Police received a report at around 3.40am on Saturday 13 April 2024 that a woman aged in her 30s had been raped. The incident is reported to have occurred between 9.30pm on Friday 12 April and 2am on Saturday 13 April 2024 in Skerryvore Gardens in Alum Chine Road.
Following detailed enquiries, a 46-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of rape. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Ben Griffin, of BCP CID, said: “An investigation is underway and we are continuing to support the victim while our enquiries continue.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Skerryvore Gardens and Robert Louis Stevenson Avenue between 10pm on Friday 12 April and 2am on Saturday 13 April 2024 to please come forward as you may have important information to assist us.”
