Fail-to-stop collision in Bridport – witness and dashcam appeal
Officers investigating a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Bridport are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
The incident occurred between approximately 10.50am and 11am on Tuesday 20 February 2024 in West Street near to the junction with South Street and involved a car and a pedestrian.
It is reported that the vehicle failed to stop at the scene. It is described as similar to a dark-coloured Honda Jazz or very dark purple Vauxhall Corsa.
The pedestrian – a man aged in his 20s from Devon – sustained serious injuries and attended hospital for treatment.
Police Constable Simon Wilcox, of Bridport police, said: “I am carrying out an investigation and would ask witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please come forward.
“Also, I am appealing to the driver of the car involved to please get in touch so we can take your account of what happened.”
