Update following reported assault in Boscombe

Officers are issuing an update following a reported assault on a security officer in Boscombe.

At around 6pm on Friday 8 March 2024, a security officer at the Sovereign Centre noticed a group of people acting anti-socially in the café. It is reported that as he approached the group and asked them to leave, he was verbally and racially abused.

When two male members of the group were near the exit, they allegedly assaulted the victim. He was reportedly knocked unconscious to the ground and sustained an injury to his ear.

Following a CCTV appeal, a 17-year-old boy has been identified and is assisting officers with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.
