Road traffic collision in Wareham – witness and dashcam appeal

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward as they investigate a serious injury collision in Wareham.

Dorset Police received a report at 11.04pm on Friday 18 July 2025 of a collision involving an e-bike and an e-scooter on Sandford Road.

Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place between the Sibley Pottery Roundabout and Wareham Roundabout.

The rider of the e-bike, a man aged in his 70s, was taken to hospital with injuries described as life-changing. 

The rider of the e-scooter, a woman aged in her 20s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Sergeant David Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened, or the moments leading up to the collision, to please come forward.

“Also, I would be keen to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I’d like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while road closures were put in place.”
