Update – man due in court in connection with fatal collision in West Dorset
A man is due to appear in court in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in West Dorset.
At 1.34pm on Monday 1 January 2024, Dorset Police received a report of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A35 near Kingston Russell. The vehicles involved were a silver Kia Sorento, a black Toyota Aygo and a black BMW.
A passenger of the Toyota – an 18-year-old man from Cornwall – was very sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Three further people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not life-threatening.
Following detailed enquiries by the Roads Policing Team, a 22-year-old man from Bridport has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 13 November 2024 for offences of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving without due care and attention while over the specified limit for a controlled drug.
