Appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Sherborne
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a serious injury collision in Sherborne.
Dorset Police received a report at 12.36pm on Monday 24 July 2023 of a collision involving a blue Audi A5 and a concrete mixer lorry in Bradford Road near to the Oxley Sports Centre.
An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital by air ambulance for treatment to serious injuries. A second person has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious.
A man aged in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence and remains in police custody.
Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch if they have not already spoken to police.
“Also, I would like to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.
“The road remains closed at this time while we carry out a thorough examination of the scene and I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding at this time.”
