CCTV appeal following racially aggravated assault in Bournemouth

Officers investigating a racially aggravated assault in Bournemouth are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.

At around 6.45am on Friday 10 July 2026 two men were walking in the area of East Cliff Zig Zag when they were approached by a man who was not known to them.

It was reported the man became racially abusive, before assaulting the two men and throwing a traffic cone at them.

One of the victims sustained a minor injury to his arm.

Police Constable Sydney Gibbons, of Bournemouth police, said: “We take all reports of hate crime very seriously and have been exploring all lines of enquiry in relation to this incident.

“We are now in a position to release a CCTV image of a man we are looking to identify as part of our enquiries and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
