Update in relation to fatal collision in Bournemouth
A man is due to appear in court in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Bournemouth.
The collision occurred at around 6.30pm on Saturday 11 February 2023 in Castle Lane West involving a Volkswagen Polo and a Honda motorcycle.
A woman aged in her 40s from the motorcycle was very sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A man from the motorcycle was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. The female driver of the car was uninjured.
A 41-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested in connection with the incident.
Following a detailed investigation, he has now been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 31 May 2024 for offences of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst disqualified and causing death by driving without due care or consideration while unfit through drugs.
