Appeal for footage following disorder at boxing event in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating disorder at a boxing event in Bournemouth are appealing for anyone with information or mobile phone footage to get in touch.

Reports were received during the evening of Saturday 27 May 2023 of disorder at a boxing event at the Vitality Stadium in Kings Park.

It is reported that a number of fights broke out inside the venue. During one of the incidents, a man aged in his 30s sustained a serious injury to his ear that required hospital treatment.

Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of BCP CID, said: “We are aware that numerous incidents of disorder occurred during this event, some of which may have not been reported to police.

“The Force does not tolerate violence and detectives are carrying out enquiries to try and identify those involved.

“This event attracted around 15,000 people, with many travelling from areas across the south of England.

“There were a large number of people present and I would urge anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on mobile phone footage from within the stadium to please come forward.

“Also, I am appealing to anyone who attended the event and has any information to assist our investigation to please contact Dorset Police.”
