Appeal for witnesses following alleged assault in Ferndown

Detectives investigating an alleged assault in Ferndown are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at around 9.55pm on Friday 22 March 2024 of an assault in the area of Emberley Close.

A man – aged in his 30s – sustained serious injuries and attended hospital for treatment.

Following enquiries, a 28-year-old woman of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. She was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The arrested woman and man are believed to be known to each other.

Detective Inspector Rhys Griffiths, of Dorset County CID, said: “Detailed enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity during the evening of Friday 22 March 2024 in the areas of Emberley Close or Bolton Crescent.

“Also, I would appeal to any residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, as well as motorists travelling in the vicinity with a dashcam fitted to their vehicle, to please check their footage for anything of relevance.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are carried out and officers can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”
