CCTV appeal following serious assault in Bridport

Officers are issuing an image of two men they would like to identify following a serious assault in Bridport.

The incident occurred at around 12am on Thursday 8 May 2025 at The Bridport Dagger pub in East Street.

It was reported that the victim – a man aged in his 30s – was leaving the pub with a friend when a member of the pub staff was confronted by two other men who were refusing to leave. An altercation ensued in which the member of the pub staff was pushed to the floor and the victim was punched to the side of the head, causing him to also fall to the ground.

The victim attended hospital for treatment to a serious jaw injury.

It was further reported that the two suspects racially abused two other men who attended the pub earlier that evening.

Police Constable James Harper, of Dorset Police, said: “As part of my investigation, I am issuing a CCTV image of two men I would like to identify.

“I would ask anyone who recognises them to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would also ask the two men who were reported to have been racially abused by the suspects to please come forward so we can take your account of what happened that evening.”
