Man charged and due to appear in court for alleged shoplifting offences in Bournemouth

A man has been charged and is due to appear in court in connection with over 40 shoplifting offences in the Charminster area of Bournemouth.

The incidents occurred between Monday 11 December 2023 and Sunday 25 February 2024 at Co-op in Charminster Road and One Stop in Ripon Road.

Following an investigation, a 33-year-old man from Bournemouth has been charged with 45 counts of theft from a shop. He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 6 May 2024 and is next due to appear at the same court on Tuesday 14 May 2024.

Chief Inspector Alyssa Forrest, of Dorset Police, said: “This investigation was carried out as part of Op Shopkeeper, which is the Retail Team in the Incident Resolution Team’s ongoing efforts to identify suspected prolific shoplifters across the county to help our business communities.”
