Targeted action by local officers in relation to drug related activity in Boscombe has led to a dealer being jailed.

Officers from the Bournemouth East Neighbourhood Policing Team have been carrying out a range of proactive work to tackle issues around reported drug dealing and related activity in the area, and were focussing on the area of Churchill Gardens on Wednesday 2 September 2026 when they spotted a man who was known to have links to drug supply.

As they approached, 30-year-old Mohammed Taha was seen to place his hand down the front of his trousers and take something out, which he discarded in a nearby bush.

Officers detained Taha and in the bush they found a cling film package containing a number of wraps, which were subsequently found to contain heroin and crack cocaine.

The defendant was also found in possession of more than £500 in cash, while a phone was seized from him which was found to have messages relating to the supply of drugs.

Further quantities of crack cocaine were found on Taha during searches in custody.

Taha was subsequently charged and admitted possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. He appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday 2 October 2026 and was sentenced to three years and two months in prison.

Sergeant Ashley White, of the Bournemouth East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We fully recognise the detrimental impact drug supply and related activity has on local communities and this case demonstrates that we will act on the concerns of local residents and take robust action.

“Through the proactive efforts of neighbourhood officers, we were able to identify Mohammed Taha as being involved in the supply of class A drugs and ensure he was held to account for this activity.”
