Appeal for information following reported assault in Weymouth
Officers investigating a report of an assault in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and the victim involved to come forward.
It was reported that between 10pm and 11pm on Friday 14 March 2025 a man was seen grabbing a woman and shouting at her in Chickerell Road, near to the junction with Dennis Road. It was believed the man and woman were known to each other.
The man is described as white with brown hair and of medium build. He was wearing a black Jack Daniels T-shirt.
The woman involved is described as having long dark hair and was wearing a red top and light-coloured jeans.
It was reported that an elderly couple went to intervene in the incident and the man then threw something at them and was aggressive toward them.
After the matter was reported to police by a third party, officers carrying out enquiries in the area found a red leather jacket and a handbag, which they believe may belong to the female victim.
Police Constable Marco Saunders, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and we are particularly keen to speak to the woman involved to check that she is all right and also hopefully reunite her with her property.
“We are also keen to speak to the elderly couple who intervened during the incident, or any other witnesses who have not already spoken to police.”
